Frequently Asked Questions
We have compiled a list with answers to questions we think you might ask. If we’ve missed your question, feel free to contact us. We can get you an answer and possibly add the question to our list.
When should I arrive and how do I get there?
As a guest to our church, plan to arrive about 10 minutes before the service or meeting time is scheduled to begin. This will give you time to stop by one of our Guest Ministry Centers, ask questions, find where you need to go, and settle in before things get started. Families bringing children should plan more time to drop their kids off at the nursery or their classroom. For complete details on how to get to the church, where to go when you’re here, and all service and meeting times, please check our directions page.
What should I wear?
Dress can be summed up in one word: comfortable. In our services you will find people dressed in everything from jeans and t-shirts to a coat and tie—so come in whatever makes you comfortable and prepared for worship.
What is a typical service like?
Our services are designed so you can connect with God. We use relevant music, creative arts and technology so you can know and understand Him better. Each Sunday, one of our gifted pastors or guest speaker leads us into God’s Word to see what He has to say about relevant issues in our life.
What style of music do you have?
A live band leads each Sunday morning service in a mixture of music that emphasizes both who God is and our standing in Christ. We strive to utilize music that is relevant to our church family and allows us to understand God better which includes both traditional hymns and modern worship songs.
Who is your head pastor and how can I learn more about him?
Calvary is an Elder led church and our Board of Elders lead as we seek God’s plan for us to effectively reach the community we are blessed to serve in. Dave Riddle is our Teaching Pastor and the person you are most likely to see on a Sunday morning. He also serves as a Vocational Elder on our Elder Board.
Are kids allowed in the service/what do you offer for my kids?
Children of all ages are welcome to stay with their parents during the service. However, we do have nursery care and classes available for children of all ages during the Disciple U hour.
There are nursery and children’s classes for infants thru Kindergarten during the entire worship service. We also provide children’s church for 1st-5th grade which dismisses half way thru the service.
