Key Passage: Psalm 86:11-13
“11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name. 12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. 13 For great is Your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.” [NIV84]
Communion reminds us…
…that we are to be teachable :11
…that we are not to have a divided heart :11
- what divides: Matthew 4:1-11
- how do we know we have a divided heart
So, how do we know that the Lord is teaching us His way…that our heart is becoming more united than divided?
- we walk in truth :11
- we fear the Lord :11
- we praise the Lord :12
- we glorify the Lord :12
Exodus 33:18, 22; 34:5-6; 1 Timothy 6:16
The intrinsic glory of God is all of His attributes revealed in radiant light.
We glorify God when we proclaim the presence of God in our lives by displaying His attributes.
Communion reminds us of our Lord’s heart for us
- He loves us :13
- He delivered us :13
