We are excited to continue our tradition of providing backpacks and school supplies to families in need this summer. This year we are hoping to collect 200 backpacks for students served by our ministry partners Central Detroit Christian and SEND Diaspora. Pick up a paper tag in the Lobby and you’ll find the instructions and a list of needed supplies on the back. Backpacks should be returned to the Lobby by August 1 so they can be distributed throughout the month of August in time for the start of school.
If you are unable to grab a tag from the lobby you can sign up here! One backpack is equal to either a lobby tag OR a signup on this link.

When are the backpacks due? Sunday, August 1st by the end of Worship Service.
What if I am unable to return the backpack on August 1st? The church building is open from 9am-4pm Monday-Thursday. You can leave it in the West Lobby during those hours.
I would like to participate in the Backpack Project, but I am unable to shop for the supplies right now. Is there another option to participate? You are welcome to support our ministry efforts. If you’d like to make a financial gift you can do so through our online giving. You can support the Backpack Project by giving to Calvary LOVES.
I’m having trouble finding the large storage bags. Where can I find those? There are extras in the West Lobby.
