Good Friday At Calvary:
An experience of worship, prayer, and reflection
Why?
On Good Friday, we remember the great act of love that was God’s judgement poured out on Jesus as the payment for our sins, and in response, we celebrate. We have a long-standing tradition at Calvary of gathering to honor the significance of this special day. Each year it looks a bit different, but the meaning is always the same.
When?
For Good Friday 2025, you’re invited to join us anytime between 6:00-8:00 p.m. (just like a graduation party – come anytime in that window and stay as long as you’d like). You’ll move at your own pace around the building to three different areas, each designed to help focus our hearts on the significance of Good Friday.
What?
Our Worship Team will be leading worship through singing starting every half hour in the Auditorium (6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30). Our Elders will be ready to talk with you and your family, pray with you, and serve you communion up in Room 303. You’ll also have the chance to spend some time in guided personal reflection and Scripture meditation in the Lobby. Everyone is encouraged to visit each of these areas in any order and stay as long as you’d like at each.
Who?
This event is designed for you to experience as an individual, couple, or family together. There is no formalized childcare as families are encouraged to spend time at each area together, but if you have concerns or need some special assistance, please reach out to our Calvary Kids director, Carrie Mackelm (carrie.macklem@cbcjoy.org). We’d love to help make the experience work well for your family.
