Outreach Partners
As a non-profit, faith based organization CDC strives to educate, employ, and empower members of the community. CDC has open job postings and they are asking that we pray that God will provide equipped individuals to bless the community and share the goodness of God. They also ask for prayer specifically for single parents who are trying to balance home, work, and their child(ren)’s school.
Pride for parent christmas store
This year, we are hoping to collect 100 coats and 100 packages of socks to help support the store. Grab a tag from the tree in the lobby that notes the item you desire to purchase. All items are due back to Calvary by Sunday, December 10. We also have serving opportunities during the store that allow you to connect with the families of CDC. Check out the link below for more information and to sign up.

Send International - Diaspora
SEND Diaspora serves refugees within the Detroit area. They acquired a new building, known as the Hope International Center. This facility will allow us to come alongside them and assist with English speaking classes, conversation partners, and children’s programming. If you’d like to get involved, let us know!
English language learning at calvary
SEND Diaspora has been offering weekly classes to help refugee families learn English and prepare for the citizenship process. They have recently met and engaged a new community of Afghan refugees in the Westland area. This particular community desires to develop their English speaking skills through learning and practice with conversation partners.
Join us on Wednesdays 6:30-8pm in the Level 100-Cafeteria. Email Bobbie Lee Barr at bobbielee@cbcjoy.org for more information or to participate!
PRAY
Creativity in connecting and building relationships
Hearts focused on pointing our language learning students to a deep need for Jesus and the confidence and hope we have in Him.
Wisdom as teachers prepare content to both share the gospel as well as provide tools for English.
