How do we interact with hurtful and/or evil people?
The Normal, Natural Way:
Blast
Romans 12:14 - “Bless and do not curse”
Give it back in return
Romans 12:17 - do not repay anyone evil for evil
Take revenge
Romans 12:19 - never avenge yourselves
“Beloved” you are loved so act out of love.
Get crushed
Romans 12:21 - do not be overcome by evil.
The Abnormal, Supernatural Way:
Bless
Romans 12:14 - bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse
Do Good and Live Peacefully
Romans 12:17-18 - do what is good... live peaceably with all.
“...as far as it depends on you”
You can only control your own actions/thoughts/words
God Avenges; We Serve
Romans 12:19 - vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.
Romans 12:20 - if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink.
Victory!
Romans 12:21 - overcome evil with good.
John 16:33 - in this world you will have trouble... take heart, I have overcome the world.
