Hello, Calvary Family!
This week, we achieved our first marker point of the Elder’s 3-phase plan to reduce our church’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Our state sustained 7-day rolling averages of COVID-related deaths per day below twenty (20), so we will enact Phase 1 of the protocol reduction plan. Starting Sunday, March 21, the following changes occur:
Discontinue temperature checks at entry doors.
Remove the health assessment as part of the online RSVP process.
Discontinue lobby reconfiguration and flow for social distancing.
Allow food, coffee, snacks, drinks, etc. to be provided by CBC.
Water fountains will be turned back on and available for use.
As a reminder, all of our marker points are related to the 7-day rolling average of COVID-related deaths per day in Michigan. Phases 2 and 3 of our reduction plan will take place when we see sustained daily averages of fifteen (15) for Phase 2 and ten (10) for Phase 3. Though they are not yet being enacted, the specific details for those subsequent reductions are detailed below.
Phase 2:
Discontinue RSVP process.
Continue to strongly encourage mask usage at all times but allow for masks/facial coverings to be removed while seated in services and classes.
Allow on-stage non-singing/speaking personnel to remove masks/facial coverings while on-stage.
Phase 3:
Continue to strongly encourage mask usage at all times, but not require masks/facial coverings in common areas (lobbies, entrances, etc.).
Continue to strongly encourage, but not require, masks/facial coverings while in classrooms (adults, students, children).
Discontinue front-to-back and side-to-side social distancing spacing limitations in classrooms, auditorium, meeting rooms and on-stage.
Please remember, you will be notified when we cross each of the marker points and reminded of the changes that will take place within each of the phases. If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact Dan Arbitter at dan@cbcjoy.org. And as always, we thank you for your continued support, prayers, grace, patience and understanding as we live out life together in our church family.
